adminA great start to the New Year and 2023, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas period and enjoyed any holidays they had with family and friends. The month was a quiet with majority of my time winding down from 2022 and selling copies of my book, Shit!! I’m 26 and had a Stroke. The initial batch went so fast, I had to order another lot within a month of getting the first. The book is based on my experience after a catastrophic Brain Stem Stroke left me unable to move anything below my eyes affecting my ability to talk, walk or everything else in between not to mention communicate effectively with others.
I believe sharing with others may provide insight after a Traumatic Event or ongoing Medical Condition. The knowledge gained using adapted coping skills and outlook could be of benefit when facing a challenging situation whatever it may be. I am keen to offer a patient perspective on life in rehabilitation helping Doctors, Medical Professionals and Clinicians understand some thoughts, feelings or emotions that the mind goes through.
The month ended with an invitation by Alan joined by Tony to speak on their Headway Program on VOX FM. We chatted about Brain Stem Stroke and how this unusual Stroke is a little different affecting both sides of the body, updates on the Unanderra Train Station upgrade, sharing Altered Abilities aspirations and services while touching briefly on my book.
