March 2023

March began with participation in Paul Scully’s Walking Group nice and early at 6am in around the harbour area of Wollongong. Great opportunity to get out and meet people in the community while supporting our local MP. I was ecstatic when Fit Tech Studios agreed to let me hold a stall to promote my book, Shit!! I’m 26 and had a Stroke…. An excellent day engaging with the clients in the Studio!!

The Mercury ran a story on my journey since the Stroke and helped promote my book as well. I set up a stall at Warrawong Markets and spent most of the morning interacting with patrons, speaking about both my book and Altered Abilities. My business Cards have been updated to include the Altered Abilities ABN, Website and Email. Living Books kicked off again for 2023, starting at Novo, a school run out of WEA in Wollongong. A smaller school with a great group of kids!! I have started talks with Young Stroke Project to participate in pitching content, assisting with workshops to update resources and looking into other ways in which I can contribute.

It has been nearly a year since I last attended Fluro Friday and was lucky enough to reconnect attending the 10th Birthday of the support group. I am proud that Friday 24th March was also the 15th Anniversary since my Stroke and took some time to reflect on everything I have achieved in this time!!! The end of the month finished with another Living Books at Elenora Montessori School with years 7-10 participating for an outstanding morning!!

Great way to connect with nature and chat about life
A Wonderful start to 2023
